Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 1

Work Location: Remote

Assignment Duration: 1.5 Months

Work Arrangement: 8-5 CST Monday - Friday OT as needed


Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician I position involves working closely with pharmacists to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of prescription orders. This role is essential in providing quality service to members by interacting with various departments and complying with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner.
  • Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis.
  • Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Perform prescription data entry functions (preQA) by viewing images and inputting prescription information directly into the system.
  • Prepare and submit requests for prescription refills.
  • Initiate clarification requests.
  • Receive verbal instructions from prescribers as allowed by pharmacy regulation.
  • Complete reorder processing for the timely filling of prescription refills.
  • Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Complete work list according to guidelines set by Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualification & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office experience (e.g., biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification).
  • Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.
  • Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.


  • Current state's Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
