Job Summary
The Stockroom Clerk I is responsible for performing a variety of material management and inventory control tasks to ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. This position supports operations by handling incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records in SAP or related systems, and ensuring materials are available and delivered to the production floor as required. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Responsibilities
Communicate and coordinate with Operations to support material management needs, including kit pulls, kanban replenishment, milk runs, cycle counts, and inventory transactions.
Perform material management activities in accordance with established systems, procedures, and SAP operating standards.
Manage inventory accurately using SAP and other computerized databases.
Conduct routine cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Handle materials associated with receiving, repackaging, transacting, counting, and stocking within the main stockroom and production areas.
Count, weigh, and measure items in incoming shipments to verify accuracy against invoices, orders, and shipping documents.
Unpack and inspect incoming materials, record shortages, and reject damaged items when necessary.
Route received materials to appropriate departments and ensure timely delivery to the manufacturing floor.
Verify receipts, log transactions, and ensure compliance with documentation and plant policy.
Track and trace shipments to confirm on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and movements.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or documentation issues in receiving logs.
Support management in recycling and reallocation of materials within Receiving and the Stockroom.
Collaborate with other departments to provide stockroom and receiving information as needed.
Adhere to all company safety, quality, and inventory control standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
Experience using inventory management systems such as SAP or MRP required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under time constraints.
Basic math and computer skills for accurate data entry and inventory control.
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, reach, and climb ladders throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently without assistance.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
Education
Work Experience
Previous experience in material handling, inventory management, or warehouse operations preferred.
Experience with SAP or similar MRP systems highly desirable.
