Job Description




As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver in Annapolis, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail and mall location, you will play a key role in monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. You will remain visible throughout your shift, offering exceptional customer service and communication to all patrons and staff. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the retail or mall location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities or behaviors.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities or situations to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Assist guests, tenants, and employees with directions and security-related questions as needed.
  • Support emergency response activities, including evacuation procedures and communication with authorities when appropriate.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to patrons and staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
