Director Generic Product Portfolio

The Director Generic Product Portfolio will develop the pipeline criteria and identify types of products or specific products to add to our portfolio of Mature brands and Generic products.

Will lead the Generic Portfolio to identify and proactively implement strategies to improve margins based on Continuous Improvement activities or market opportunities. Will partner with Project Management, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain to identify and implement pricing and market penetration strategies that grow revenue and margins. Will also work closely with Project Management, Business Development, and Sales Operations by providing pricing, forecasts and financial models (eg. NPV) to support the ongoing evaluation of upstream approved projects (eg. ANDA internal development, in-licensing or acquisitions).

In addition, leverage market data and other tools to provide Product Management pricing and market penetration strategies to grow revenue and margin of marketed products.

Essential Duties:

  • To utilize IMS and multiple other data sources to identify strategies and new pipeline products that will contribute to the growth of our mature branded and generic businesses.
  • Develop the priorities for the Generic Portfolio Team to proactively identify opportunities to improve margins.
  • To manage and lead projects and teams, such as, Product Management, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance to capitalize on generic market opportunities and through data and market intelligence, proactively implement strategies to grow revenue and margin.
  • Responsible for developing tools, systems and processes to efficiently manage the key areas of the function.
  • To collaborate with Cross functional teams to ensure the proper pricing and forecasts are delivered for all upstream projects: co-development, internal development, external development, acquisitions, etc.
  • To collaborate with Sales Operations, National Accounts & Supply chain to identify pricing or market penetration strategies to grow revenue and margin of marketed products
  • To collaborate with IELP colleagues in multiple other functions to create a criterion for adding new products to our pipeline.
  • Partner with supervisor to develop, improve and support a process for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing and selecting new products for our core generic and brand portfolio.
  • To utilize market data and other sources to identify new product candidates that meet the criteria.
  • To attend NACDS, HDMA and other meetings as necessary.

Education:

A minimum of 12 years of pharmaceutical experience, including: two plus years Product Management experience with generic drugs and one plus years of National Account sales experience with retail and wholesale headquarter accounts.

Excellent financial skills and acumen, including understanding relationships between promotion, COGS, NPV's, pricing and gross margin.

Ability to calculate, interpret and leverage knowledge of pricing strategies and COGS to grow portfolio profitability.

Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related electronic business tools required Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to direct and lead a team toward corporate objectives.

Ability to manage department budget.

Strong interpersonal, organization, leadership and presentation skills.

Ability to strategically plan the activities and results of a team.

Travel Requirements Up to 25%

Compensation Range:

$178,457.00 - $267,685.00
