As a Security Officer - Flex Front Desk in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more.

As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Front Desk Security Officer at a prominent commercial real estate location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and tenants, providing a strong, welcoming presence while assisting with access control, badge verification, and alarm panel monitoring. Your role will be key in helping to deter security-related incidents through attentive observation and excellent customer service. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner while monitoring access to the location.
  • Verify identification and manage visitor logs in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras and alarms to help to deter unauthorized access or activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal procedures and site protocols.
  • Communicate and coordinate with property management, tenants, and/or emergency services as required.
  • Provide customer service by answering inquiries and assisting with directions or information related to the location.
  • Document security-related incidents and complete daily activity reports as directed by Allied Universal and client requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • Availability across various days and shifts
  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a combined minimum of 3 years of law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
