What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the shelter location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting with conflict resolution as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any security-related concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or site management.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required by site-specific protocols.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations for review by Allied Universal and/or site management.
• Support shelter staff and residents by providing a visible security-related presence and responding to requests for assistance as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
