RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Production

  • Inspecting and cleaning railcars.
  • Operating front-end loader to move railcars into position for cleaning and loading.
  • Operating front-end loader and bobcat to clean up around mine and plant areas.
  • Operating front-end loader or dozer to feed stone into tunnel feeder.
  • Operating end dump truck.
  • Operating oil treatment system.

Maintenance

  • General maintenance work, as directed.
  • Maintaining equipment in a safe and efficient working condition.
  • Repairing equipment as assigned.
  • Performing welding and electrical applications as needed.
  • Performing general routine maintenance to keep equipment operating.
  • Implement repairs for all breakdowns.
  • Maintaining maintenance records.

Reporting

  • Completing daily Equipment Checklist
  • Submitting the Daily Equipment Checklist to the Plant Supervisor.
  • Completing Rail Car Inspection Sheet.
  • Updating and completing maintenance work orders.
  • Complete Bag house records reports.
  • Complete preventative maintenance report.
  • Complete electrical maintenance report.

Safety

  • Enforcing all company, local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
  • Attending safety meetings.
  • Complete Pre-Shift Work Place Examinations

Quality System, as defined by the Corporate Quality Manual

  • Maintaining the validity of all documentation affecting this position.
  • Maintaining the validity of all the procedures affecting this position.

Training

  • Providing on the job training, as assigned.
  • Verification of on the job training, as assigned.

Backup

  • To back up other Utility Operators.
  • To back up Plant Operators.
  • To be backed up by the Plant Supervisor, Plant Manager, QC/Safety Manager, and Plant Operators.

Clean Up

  • All areas under and around conveyor belts.
  • All yard areas.
  • All areas around dry plants.
  • Keeping all maintenance areas clean and orderly.
  • Cleaning up after any work performed.
  • Clean up in all areas as instructed.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Electrician/Maintenance Team Member
  • Maintenance Team Member
  • LP09.500 Preventative Maintenance
  • Must have welding experience.
  • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able perform basic mathematical computations
  • Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs

  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages.
  • Proven self-direction and leadership abilities.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.

  • Must be open minded, willing to learn, and receptive to change.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers.
  • Must have a telephone available and be receptive to callouts.
  • Good decision making skills regarding safety
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blue prints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required in this position.
  • Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 2 years of technical school or relevant experience preferred.

Required Experience: 1-3 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience

For this position, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
