Moog Military Aircraft has an immediate opening for a Business Systems/OSV Auditor to perform internal audits to evaluate system effectiveness in support the systemic processes and integrating quality related processes and services throughout the Aircraft site Value Streams.

The Business Systems Auditor is a key participant across all aspects of the audit team and conduct internal business systems, process-based and product audits within Moog facilities. This role supports external product and process audits conducted by customers, regulators and certifying agencies.

The Business Systems Auditor has the primary responsibility to ensure Moog Business Systems are assessed for effectiveness and results are reported to responsible managers across the Value Streams. Reporting to our Site Quality Manager, you will have an on-site work schedule at our aerospace plant in Torrance, California.

As a Business Systems/OSV Auditor, you will...

  • Plan and conduct internal process-based audits relative to Moog Business Systems processes, OSV Operators, products and procedures in a timely manner and in accordance with audit schedule requirements.

  • Assist and Support operations and management personnel throughout the value stream in the implementation of improvement activities.

  • Assist in the coordination of external customer audit activities relative to Moog business systems and procedures.

  • Assist in investigating, answering and assigning responsibility of external and internal corrective action requests to responsible Moog personnel, as well as verify effectiveness of the resulting actions to ensure mitigation of future occurrence.

  • Maintain and record external and internal audit results for trending analysis and provide follow-up audit results to appropriate Moog personnel to report status of corrective actions.

  • Work closely with the Business Systems Audit Manager and other departmental personnel to help improve the efficiency in the external and internal audit processes, as well as review discrepancy trends to determine and provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Provide assistance with department personnel relevant to process-based auditing techniques and conduct audit training for Business System Audit, OSV Audit and audit support personnel.

  • Prepare internal audit checklists and support documentation /procedures to facilitate Business Systems Auditing.

  • Possess the ability to follow through on assignments with limited supervision and complete tasks within a timely manner, especially when timeframes are not clearly defined;

  • Well organized and possess a high degree of attention to details.

  • Interpersonal skills, writing skills, tact and assertion.

  • Must be capable of conversing with Moog personnel at all levels of the organization and throughout the value stream regarding business systems processes as a means to communicate issues and recommend actions for continuous improvement.

  • Possess the ability to look beyond accepted norms and the normalization of deviation to identify established paradigms that may be introducing unknown risk to Moog and our Customers, and rate those risks in order to communicate their significance, to be a catalyst for suggesting mitigating actions.

  • Perform in-depth process analysis, beyond written procedures and instructions, to identify potential internal and external process and product risks that may affect Moog and our Customers and provide feedback to responsible parties as a means to drive risk mitigation and implementation of preventive action, before the potential issues come to fruition.

Minimum Qualifications to be considered...

  • A four-year business or technical degree and experience in business systems, and quality assurance or control or an Associate Degree and minimum 5 years quality experience

  • Post job award, you are required to successfully complete auditor training.

  • Understanding of AS9100

  • Experience in the aerospace

  • FAA repairs, audits and inspections

  • Repair Stations

  • Experience with Audit Documentation & Presentation

  • AS9100D Certified

  • Experience in Assembly and Test

  • Manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge of military and government specifications

  • Experience with SAP

  • Knowledge of Moog systems and procedures, and business and/or technical experience

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $30.00-$45.00 Hourly

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
