Staff Associate - Management

The work will include quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, collection, coordination and management of information and data, development of research materials (figures, presentations, papers, etc.), and work on special projects relating to pertinent fields of research within the division.

This position provides an opportunity to gain experience in academic business research, with a special focus on fields such as management, statistics, and economics; and would be ideal preparation for a Ph.D. program or other graduate study.

All duties involve work in one or more of the following areas of research: accounting, finance, economics, and statistics. Specific duties include:



  • Collect, clean, and maintain datasets and databases. Extract and link data from multiple databases for analysis. Prepare detailed documentation.
  • Develop models and implement program code (STATA, Python, SQL, R, SAS, Matlab, etc.).
  • Perform statistical analysis, including regression analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Assist with data analysis and dissemination of findings through the preparation of reports, journal articles, presentations, websites, and other research outlets.
  • Perform case-based research, including work with detailed primary documents.


For this specific position, an ideal candidate can also have a background in Psychology, Sociology, or related social science fields, with a strong interest in the application of experimental and social psychological methods to the study of organizational behavior. Areas of interest may include diversity and equality initiatives, labor markets, and organizational policies.

Minimum qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics with coursework in computer science.
  • Up to two years of research experience in a research role as a research assistant during the academic year or a summer internship in a research lab or governmental institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in the topics of Organizational Behavior, Psychology, and/or Sociology
  • Familiarity with working with cross-sectional, experimental, longitudinal, and/or archival data
  • Experience with experimentation in online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Prolific, Amazon's Mechanical Turk etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and manage all timelines and deliverables.
  • The ideal candidate will have extremely high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and absolute commitment to task completion. He or she must be able to balance multiple tasks and shifting priorities under tight deadlines at an accelerated pace when necessary. Preference for a candidate who plans to seek an advanced degree.
