Housed within the Division of Undergraduate Education, Student Success Initiatives (SSI) aim to provide students the personal, academic, and professional support and development to thrive and succeed at UCI and beyond. SSI is a learning community that empowers students to be productive and engaged in their academic careers and personal endeavors. Grant projects managed under SSI serve students who are from low-income backgrounds and/or first-generation college students and/or students who have a disability. TRIO grants are funded from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education's Student Support Services Program. Student Support Services provides a broad array of services related to academic, financial, career and personal support to help participants acclimate, thrive and succeed.


Your Role on the Team

Under the general supervision of the Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Project Director, TRIO SSS Project Advisors provide the full range of assessment, counseling, and advice to targeted students, and make referrals to organization and community resources for UCI's federal TRIO-SSS Classic and/or the TRIO-SSS STEM & Health Science grants. This includes providing direct services and coordinating programs to advise TRIO student participants on their personal, financial, and academic needs. In addition, the advisors implement high impact practices that deliver measurable student gains in student success, matriculation, and academic achievement. The TRIO Project Advisors work independently and receive guidance on complicated problems / situations. Other responsibilities include assisting in student staff scheduling and supervision, as well as, planning workshops, tracking participant attendance and engagement, and data management. NOTE: We are hiring for two positions. One is for UCI's federal TRIO-SSS Classic grant and the other is for UCI's TRIO-SSS STEM Health Sciences grant. The expected pay range for this recruitment is $65,700- $ (Annual).
