Role Overview
As a Copywriter for Pottery Barn, you'll help tell the stories that bring our brand to life-across our site, catalog, and integrated marketing campaigns. You'll collaborate with creative leads, designers, and cross-functional partners to craft copy that reflects our heritage of quality and craftsmanship, inspires a sense of home, and connects with customers in meaningful, lasting ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality, on-brand copy for digital, print, and campaign assets-including site, catalog, email, and marketing channels

  • Ensure tone, style, and messaging remain consistent and aligned with the Pottery Barn voice across all touchpoints

  • Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and fellow writers to concept seasonal storytelling and campaign ideas

  • Support creative development from concept through execution-bringing fresh thinking and attention to detail to every deliverable

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Contribute to reviews and discussions, thoughtfully incorporating feedback to refine and elevate work

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into clear, inspiring, customer-centered messaging

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of copywriting experience, preferably within retail, home, or lifestyle brands
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to connect brand storytelling to product and seasonal strategies
  • Experience writing for both digital and print, with an understanding of how voice and storytelling adapt across channels
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail and consistency
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and timelines
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects across seasons and channels
  • Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills
  • Passion for home decor, craftsmanship, and design-driven storytelling
  • Ability to work onsite Monday-Thursday in our San Francisco office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
