| *Description* The Fiber Optic Cable Tester is responsible for testing existing fiber optic cables in support of the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization Project. This role requires specialized knowledge in fiber optics, attention to detail, and the ability to work with testing equipment to provide accurate cable test results of existing fiber plants. **This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and must be willing to travel to Hawaii and Alaska for 3-5 months** Key Responsibilities: * Testing and Certification: * Perform testing on fiber optic cables using equipment such as OTDR, and Power Meters. * Certify the integrity and performance of fiber optic installations according to industry standards. * Must be proficient with Fluke Versiv Power Meter and OTDR test gear. * Documentation: * Maintain accurate records of test results, including test data reports and certification documentation. * Provide Progress Reports and Test Documentation to the Site Lead daily. Qualifications: * Education and Certification: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Certification in Fiber Optic Testing and/or Fiber Optic Technician certification is preferred. * Experience: * Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing. * Experience with OTDR testing, power meter testing, and light source testing. Skills: oProficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment and tools. oStrong understanding of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and standards. oAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics. oExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. oStrong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting. oAdherence to safety standards and protocols is mandatory. oEffective communication skills. oAbility to work independently and in a team environment. oStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $43.21 - $43.21/hr.
