     | Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a 
       GEAR UP Instructor for the Provost & 
       EVC for Academic Affairs. The 
       GEAR UP Instructor will provide academic services in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies for 7th - 12th grade New Brunswick Public School (
       NBPS) students under the NJ 
       GEAR UP State Project. The mission is to guide middle school and high school students on the path to college and provide tools for academic success. Under the Director of 
       GEAR UP, the instructor will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the curriculum by identifying student learning outcomes, planning, organizing, and presenting meaningful instruction for participants during the 
       GEAR UP Saturday Academy and Summer Program. The Saturday Academy will run from January to May on a bi-weekly basis, and the 6-week Summer Program will operate Monday through Thursday from July to mid-August.
       
 Among the key duties of the position are the following:
 
       
 Provides meaningful and planned instruction to participants during the GEAR UP Saturday and/or Summer Program.Prepares and submits enriching lesson plans prior to instruction with a focus on project-based learning.Assists participants and program staff to establish and maintain acceptable classroom behavior and standards.Communicates regularly with the Director to ensure the academic development of participants.Assesses and reports on participants' progress by administering pre- and post- assessment instruments.Chaperones field trips and college tours.Performs other duties, as assigned.
