Overview

Provides nursing services for patients and nursing leadership in coordination with Nurse supervisor for medical imaging nurses.
Qualifications

Certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Work Experience: Nursing
Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATIVE: Provides administrative duties and supervision for the nurses in medical imaging.

  • Offers leadership, education, and mentoring to nurses.
  • Participates in hiring/interview panels for nurses and demonstrates good judgment in interview process
  • Provides coaching to nursing staff
  • Completes annual evaluations in conjunction with the Nurse Supervisor for nursing staff
  • Provides adequate nursing staff for care of all patients
  • Proactively anticipates nursing needs of the unit, both defined and undefined
  • Displays knowledge of and demonstrates support for organizational and department specific performance improvement activities specific to nursing
  • Orients Nursing interns and new nursing hires.
  • Facilitates nursing meetings and attends daily staffing meetings to provide consistent nursing representation and feedback
  • Assist in maintaining nursing policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally within department and throughout the organization
  • Other administrative nursing duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor


DIRECT PATIENT CARE: Provides quality patient care to patients.

  • Provides unit coverage when needed.
  • Performs weekly chart audits
  • Provides quality care for patients.
  • Provides coverage for all nursing task
  • Anticipates the needs of the unit nurse and of patients, and meets them
  • Ability to provide patient staffing with other staff members,
  • Demonstrates quality and accurate nursing judgement.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in resolving issues or inquiries, solution focused behavior
  • Strives to exceed customer expectations of service, teamwork, and respect by consistently displaying values


EDUCATION/TRAINING: provides education to others

  • Provides nursing representation in leadership meetings within department.
  • Provides education and training to nursing staff,
  • Provides education and training to agency nursing and nursing interns.
  • Participates and attends all trainings and education
  • Continues to professionally develop own leadership skills and abilities
  • Ensures competencies are up to date for all nursing staff and notifies nurses of educational opportunities

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $35.42per hour - $60.92per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
