Job Overview

The Program Manager of Sports Nutrition in the Sports Medicine Center is a lead team member who fosters administrative responsibilities managing the Sports Nutrition Program, organizes and provides outreach/education in the community, and provides comprehensive, safe, and ethical medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other clients in outpatient settings within the Sports Medicine Center. This is a hybrid position that includes Denver Metro Area travel and occasional evening/weekend work. In-person clinical requirements are located in Aurora, Broomfield, and Denver or Wheat Ridge.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Location: Clinics held in Aurora, Uptown and Broomfield with presentations across the Denver Metro Area
  • Job Details: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours per week - eligible for benefits
  • Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; Occasional evenings and weekends per community presentation schedule. 4 half days in clinic, 6 half days for administrative duties every two weeks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

1. Oversee the operations and quality of the Sports Nutrition Program for Children's Hospital Colorado Sports Medicine Center.
2. Lead and grow a team of nutrition professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development for team members.
3. Provide and oversee high-quality, research-based nutrition therapy care to Sports Medicine Center patients, including all aspects of the nutrition care process. Incorporate principles of culture-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
4. Develop and implement nutrition programs and policies to promote the health and wellbeing of patients.
5. Provide sports nutrition related community education and foster relationships within community partnerships and providers.
6. Support new and upcoming multidisciplinary clinics with sports nutrition services, including but not limited to the female athlete clinic, runner's clinic, gymnastics clinic, injury prevention, and sports performance center programming.
7. Oversee and create educational content specific to sports nutrition to be utilized in various mediums (digital and print) to expand reach and impact in the community supporting the growing athlete.
8. Provide precepting opportunities including guidance, education and mentorship for dietetic interns, medical students, residents and fellows at Children's Hospital Colorado.
9. Collaborate with the clinical nutrition department on a regular basis for support and guidance on patient care, compliance, billing and other regulatory requirements, and serve as a liaison between the sports nutrition department and other departments within the hospital.
10. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of sports nutrition.
11. Communicate with patients and their families to provide education and support regarding nutrition.
12. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
13. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
14. Continuously strive to improve the quality of nutrition services offered within the Sports Medicine Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION -
* Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE -
* Five (5)+ years combined clinical and/or sports nutrition, preferably in an outpatient setting.
LICENSURES/CERTIFICATION(S) -
* Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) adhering to the Commission of Dietetic Registration guidelines.
* Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) adhering to the Commission of Dietetic Registration guidelines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Program management or demonstrates progressive job responsibilities preferred.
* Adolescent/pediatric clinical experience preferred.
* Public speaking experience preferred.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $84,558.69 to $126,838.03
