SUMMARY

The Process Improvement Specialist drives quality and operational efficiency by independently leading process improvement projects of intermediate scope and complexity. Utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, this role conducts comprehensive data analysis, facilitates cross-functional stakeholder engagement, and develops strategies to enhance clinical and organizational performance. The Specialist effectively communicates across multiple departments, ensures project alignment with organizational goals, and provides coaching on process improvement methodologies to support a culture of continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  1. Independently leads moderately complex, cross-functional projects with minimal oversight

  2. Performs intermediate level data analysis and visualization to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities

  3. Applies quality improvement tools and methodologies to guide project execution

  4. Facilitates project meetings and supports team collaboration toward shared goals

  5. Ensures project outcomes align with operational objectives and contribute to department goals

  6. Identifies and documents barriers to improvement and collaborates with stakeholders to implement solutions

  7. Prepares reports and presentations to communicate progress, findings, and results to leadership and stakeholders

  8. Provides guidance and shares knowledge on process improvement methods to build organizational capability

  9. Ensures adherence to organizational policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations

  10. Establishes measures to monitor and sustain improvements beyond project completion

SCOPE & LEVEL

Guidelines: Developmental, standard, or intermediate level. Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.

Complexity: Falls between the entry and full performance/senior level. Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.

Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or that are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.

Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.

Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public administration, finance, management, engineering, or related field
  • Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience demonstrating analytical, project management, or operational improvement capabilities. Experience must include process improvement, quality management, data analysis, project leadership, healthcare operations, business process optimization, performance management, or related fields involving systematic problem-solving and process enhancement.
  • Equivalency: In lieu of a bachelor's degree, one year of directly related professional experience may substitute for each year of education. Advanced degrees in relevant fields may count toward up to one year of the required experience
  • Certification(s): Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or equivalent) required, or must obtain within 18 months of hire

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $76,368.20 to $114,552.29
