TEKsystems is looking to hire several FULLY ONSITE Patient Access Representatives for a large hospital in Detroit, MI! *If you have 3+ years of insurance verification and have completed patient registration and scheduling, please send your most updated resume to rsison @ teksystems.com - interviews with me are first come, first serve.* Job Title: Patient Account Representative Hours: M-F 8a-5p EST, also rotate holidays Pay: $18/hr. (non-negotiable) Start date: 11/24/2025, 4 month project, but can go perm if you do well! Must haves: * Prior experience working with health insurance, 3 years minimum administrative experience in a medical facility, as well as 3 years experience in a customer service environment. * Must have the ability to be trained on internal systems as well as must be able to work in a fast paced environment, must have great personality, patient, and must be customer service oriented. Job description: * Employees will work at the main central registration desk and check patients in for the 20 clinics that this department supports. You will register the patient, update their information and add them to the system, actively collecting patient demographic, insurance cards, and copays. * This is an extremely busy area so candidate must be OK with this type of environment. * Perform scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission, admission, and discharge functions, and must be able to obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information as well as must be able to employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during and after date of service. * Complete full patient registration at date of service, adhering to financial and cash control policies and procedures, thoroughly explaining and securing hospital and patient legal forms, scanning Protected Health Information, creating and filing patient information packets and folders for upcoming hospital services. * Assisting with scheduling diagnostic procedures like entering data in scheduling system, providing customer with appointment instructions, and other tasks as needed, educating patients about patient financial liabilities, and performing hospital cash reconciliation and securing payment entry in adherence to financial and cash control policies + procedures. * Securing medical necessity checks and verification in accordance to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services, verifying insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility, completing assigned registration financial clearance worklists, obtaining insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled hospital services and securing inpatient visit notification to payors. Interview details: one virtual interview with me (15 minutes) and one virtual final round with the Hiring Manager (30 minutes) - all through Microsoft Teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dearborn, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
