Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer (QE) Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Quality Engineering Lead to drive quality strategy, lead multiple QE teams, and shape the future of testing practices across product lines. In this role, you will manage all aspects of a team of dedicated QEs, collaborate with multi-functional partners, and ensure the delivery of outstanding, innovative software experiences.

You will play a pivotal role in architecting quality processes and frameworks, leading cross-domain initiatives, and influencing Adobe's technology roadmap through thought leadership and domain expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead QE efforts across multiple teams, coordinating test plans, quality strategies, and automation frameworks.

  • Architect forward-looking quality processes and scalable test infrastructures with 3-5 years of relevance.

  • Lead the team on automation testing, including setting test plans and reviewing automation test results.

  • Set and drive cross-product and cross-domain testing standards and processes.

  • Own system development for interlinked and complex quality processes.

  • Implement and promote procedures in Continuous Testing & Assurance.

People & Team Leadership

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to QE engineers, encouraging a culture of innovation and excellence!

  • Lead other QEs or equivalent experience in delivering comprehensive test plans aligned with business objectives.

  • Review and critique QE work across teams, driving accountability and quality ownership.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Champion and implement "breakthrough" ideas that materially impact product quality and engineering velocity.

  • Contribute new innovations through tools, frameworks, or methodologies, sharing findings via wikis, meetings.

  • Lead experimental initiatives to test and adopt novel QE practices across Adobe products.

Collaborating in a multi-functional manner

  • Act as a liaison between QE, product, development, and engineering teams, driving alignment on quality priorities.

  • Represent QE in strategic conversations across multiple business units, and collaborate with product teams to ensure customer-centric quality solutions are embedded in every phase of development.

Customer Focus

  • Advocate for the resolution of top customer issues, ensuring that solutions are prioritized and implemented.

  • Drive initiatives that directly enhance customer happiness and product reliability.

  • Seek opportunities to engage with dependent teams to address quality across the ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 12-15+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, including leadership roles.

  • Solid reputation for advancing quality standards across a variety of teams and product ranges.

  • Proficient knowledge of test automation tools, frameworks, CI/CD, and contemporary DevOps methodologies.

  • Proficient knowledge of playwright automation testing.

  • Expertise in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).

  • Product knowledge of Adobe product a significant plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority, influence individuals, and make decisions independently.

  • Recognized for technical leadership and quality domain expertise within an organization.

  • Experience mentoring and developing others technically and professionally.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on prioritizing user needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and testing microservices and APIs.

  • History of publishing, speaking, or presenting at industry conferences or internal gatherings.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $109,000 -- $215,000 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
