URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The College of Nursing is searching for a faculty member for a clinical track position to begin in Fall 2026. Experience in clinical nursing practice is required. POSTING SUMMARY: The College of Nursing (CON) is committed to excellence in teaching, scientific inquiry, and knowledge development. We are seeking a faculty member who will embrace our new college tagline, "Nurse leaders transforming wellbeing and environments," and who has a strong record of clinical expertise that supports our mission. Our mission is to prepare nurses to excel as outstanding and compassionate clinicians, scholars, and leaders who will enhance the health and healthcare of individuals, families, communities, and populations both locally and globally. The successful candidate will have an appointment with the College of Nursing with primary responsibilities in clinical teaching, with possible classroom teaching, at the undergraduate and graduate levels as appropriate. The candidate will be expected to conduct teaching in clinical, collaborate for placements for students, and collaborate regarding faculty/preceptors as appropriate, participate in student advising and service to the college, and contribute to scholarly activities. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1. Ph.D. or DNP degree at the time of appointment. 2. Proficiency in written communication skills. 3. Proficiency in oral communication skills. 4. Strong interpersonal skills. 5. Clinical expertise in nursing. 6. Eligible for RN and/or APRN licensure in Rhode Island. 7. Ability to work with diverse groups/populations. PREFERRED:
