The main campus is located in the historic village of Kingston, and the Bay Campus is located in Narragansett. Both campuses are near major beaches in a beautiful coastal community. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The College of Nursing is searching for a tenure-track Professor to begin Fall 2026. POSITION SUMMARY: The URI College of Nursing is committed to scientific inquiry, knowledge development, and excellence in teaching. We are building a robust research portfolio and are known for our innovative undergraduate and graduate programs that support our mission to prepare nurses to excel as outstanding clinicians, scholars, and leaders who will enhance the health and health care of individuals, families, communities, and populations both locally and globally. We seek a dynamic faculty member to join us as we continue to grow. The successful candidate will have an appointment with the College of Nursing with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across the campus and external partners. The candidate will serve as a senior member of the faculty and will be expected to have a program of research supported by extramural funding in an area that complements the mission of the College of Nursing. The successful candidate will also contribute to the University's teaching mission and participate in service activities. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1. PhD degree. 2. Recognized leader in the field at a national/international level (e.g., Fellow in the AAN or AANP). 3. Eligible for tenure in the College of Nursing. 4. Experience teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. 5. Research record evidenced by significant external funding (e.g. NIH, AHRQ). 6. Evidence of publications in established journals. 7. Proficiency in written communication skills. 8. Proficiency in oral communication skills. 9. Strong interpersonal skills. 10. Clinical expertise in area of specialization. 11. Expertise in palliative/end-of-life, community/public health, pediatrics, psychiatric-mental health, gerontology, environmental health, or other area complementary to the faculty and college needs. 12. Ability to write competitive applications for extramural funding. 13. Eligible for RN or APRN licensure in Rhode Island. 14. Ability to work with diverse groups/populations. PREFERRED:
