JOB SUMMARY

Reviews, monitors, prepares and reconciles accounting related transactions and processes. Uses related technological advances to ensure efficiency, accuracy and compliance. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Prepares basic statistics, numerical, and accounting information for input into the management information system. Uses the computerized system to store and retrieve information.

- Maintains administrative documentation and makes appropriate adjustments. Posts journal entries and accounts payable transactions to the automated financial recordkeeping system. Assists in preparation of monthly cash receipts and disbursements reports.

- Prepares accurate cost and time estimates for finance system and make adjustments as required. Continually reviews finance system records for checks and balances.

- Ensures ongoing reconciliation of accounts between the Sewer District's financial database and identified banking institution(s). Ensures ongoing reconciliation of banking institution(s) and StarOhio accounts. Performs all other related duties surrounding these types of transactions. Pulls together and finalizes all relative data and information for accounts and runs month end reports.

- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

- Candidate must possess bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and/or Accounting or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE

- Candidate must possess six (6) months of experience in an office setting. Experience in governmental reporting or financial analysis experience is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Candidate must possess basic knowledge of the accounting and/or finance duties and responsibilities.

- Candidate must have the ability to analyze numerical data effectively, present complex information and forecast.

- Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and mathematics skills.

- Candidate must possess excellent judgment and decision-making skills, strong objective setting abilities, strong analytical and strategic perspective skills including attention to detail and organization skills.

- Candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and successfully build and maintain positive working relationships.

- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and have strong computer skills.

- Candidate must possess the ability to be reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

During the course of performing the essential functions of this position the employee must be able to compare, compute, analyze, synthesize, compile, coordinate and instruct. Ability to communicate while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills is required. Physical work will need to be performed, such as sitting, hearing, fingering, handling, feeling and talking. Candidate must have the ability to lift up to 10 pounds an occasional basis. Position will require visual demands of near acuity, depth perception and accommodation. This position is primarily in an office setting.

Pay Range: USD, Commensurate with Experience

$59,000 - $70,800
