Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for investigating, reviewing and assisting in workers' compensation claims. Including but not limited to, working with Ameren's Safety, HR and claimant's leadership.
  • Partner with Ameren's third-party claims administrator (TPA) and outside counsel to ensure TPA is working efficiently with operations and within the scope of the Account Instructions and attend quarterly claim reviews.
  • Monitor workers' compensation claim reserves and escalate any concerns to the designated leadership for review.
  • Review TPA settlement proposals within authorized limits, escalate those exceeding the threshold to the designated leadership, and ensure fair and timely resolution with claimants.
  • Educate and keep abreast of changes in Workers' Compensation laws in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa
  • Utilize TPA claims software to manage internal claims, review notes as needed, and ensure timely documentation updates.
  • Partner in managing insurance underwriting information collection, maintenance, and submittal process including completion of insurance applications, working directly with the insurance broker to reconcile and process invoices, and secure certificates of insurance.
*Partner with internal and external resources to coordinate the processing of surety bond requests along with maintaining situational awareness of all surety bonds in place and acting on desired changes when appropriate.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide outreach and collaborate with operational support teams on insurance procurement along with fostering and maintaining strong relationships with insurance brokers.
  • Coordinates self-insured workers compensation renewals and assessment fees for Missouri, Illinois and Iowa
  • Process insurance invoices to include reconciliation of insurance broker premium invoice spreadsheets as compared to quotes and assure proper corporation allocations by coverage.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with two years of relevant experience required. Experience in legal, insurance, workers compensation claims, accounting, or business administration preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Advanced expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint and proficiency with other Office Applications as well as Adobe Acrobat is required. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required. Ability to proactively manage deadlines, critical thinking skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to communication professionally and ability to utilize technology resources to Department. Knowledge of the development of workers' compensation, and legal processes and controls.

Compensation Range:

$71,100.00 - $110,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
