Job Description

We are looking for a talented Assistant Project Manager (QC) to join our dedicated team at our office located in Emeryville, California.

Project located in Vacaville, CA!

In this role, you will report to the Project Director and Director of Operations with matrixed supervision by the Project Manager for the given assignment. You will also assist the Project Manager in supervising the activities of the Project Engineers and Superintendents. Additionally, you will assist the Project Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects, as well as achieve their respective management objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager (QC) in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications that include, but are not limited to:
    • Project Coordination
    • Procurement of sub-contracts and purchase orders
    • Construction Billings & Cash Flow Projects
    • Job Cost Analysis
    • Project Schedule Analysis and Updates
    • Meeting Minutes and Documentation
    • Project Monthly Report Generation
    • Change Management Reports
    • Application for Payment Verification
    • Contract Administration
    • Punch-List Management
    • Warranty Review
    • As-Built Document
  • Assist with activities of Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and Site Superintendents on assigned projects.
  • Coordinates resources to achieve project goals.
  • Manages client interaction on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships.
  • Generation of project scopes of work and communication to the project team.
  • Assists Procurement Manager with prep of Bid Package documentation, Pre-Bids/Walkthroughs, Bid Review, and Analysis.
  • Maintains project schedules.
  • Works closely with Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions against nonconformances.
  • Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
  • Works closely with Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports.
  • Works with Project Services to manage project costs and exposures.
  • Assist with oversight of site safety for assigned projects and coordinate with Construction Manager, Superintendents, and safety resources, including subconsultants, to establish a site safety program, monitor site safety, and correct nonconformance.
  • Process piping experience preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The salary offered for this role is between $87,000 and $116,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Engineering, Project Delivery, or a related discipline.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment

  • This position will have 5% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
  • Position may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible, depending on the assignment.

  • Position will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather.

Safety

  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
