Materials Manager The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader and contributor with excellent communication skills, well organized who works with a sense of urgency. Our Facility in Huntsville, AR manufactures integrated electromechanical assemblies for Aerospace and Defense industries. Essential Functions
- Develops and executes materials management
strategies aligned with production schedules, customer requirements, and program milestones - Oversees inventory control, warehouse, and
logistics teams to ensure material availability and optimize inventory levels - Leads supplier management activities including
supplier selection, performance tracking, risk mitigation, cost reduction - Drives the SIOP process to align demand
forecasts, material readiness, and capacity planning - Ensures compliance with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS,
FAR, and customer contractual flow-down requirements - Leads Lean/5S/continuous improvement initiatives
to improve material flow, reduce lead times, and eliminate waste - Contributes to cost reduction efforts including
supplier negotiations, EOQ analysis, VMI/Kanban, consignment, and PPV reduction - Provides leadership, coaching, and development
for materials and warehouse personnel
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (BAAN LN, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.)
- Ability to interpret electromechanical BOMs and manufacturing documentation
- Demonstrated success in inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, and material availability improvement
- Experience with SIOP/S&OP processes and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
Required Experience and Education
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's
degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field - Minimum 7+ years progressive experience in materials management, supply chain or procurement within aerospace, defense, or electromechanical manufacturing
Licenses, Certifications, etc.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent supply chain certifications (preferred)
