Sentara Medical Group is hiring a Pharmacy Navigator Supervisor

Location: Hybrid- Chesapeake, 23320*

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: M-F Days

*Will additionally require travel to onsite medical groups throughout Hampton Roads, VA and occasionally in Harrisonburg VA

This leadership role is pivotal in overseeing the transition of our Pharmacy Navigator Program from a vendor-supported service to a fully integrated, internally managed model. The position ensures strategic alignment with organizational goals, patient care standards, and pharmacy operations. By bringing this program in-house, the supervisor will drive improved continuity of care, enhanced service quality, and stronger collaboration across ambulatory departments (Sentara Medical Group practices and Ambulatory Pharmacy Departments such as Proprium Specialty Pharmacy).

The Pharmacist Supervisor will provide direct oversight of a multidisciplinary team, including Pharmacy Navigators, Outreach Coordinators, and embedded Clinical Pharmacy Specialists within specialty practice areas, ensuring seamless coordination of patient support, medication access, and clinical interventions. This role emphasizes operational excellence, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and elevate the overall pharmacy experience.

  • Leads and coordinates the development and maintenance of clinical and operationalpharmacy processes and programs

  • Develops, implements and evaluates pharmacy services, protocols, policies & procedures

  • Models practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care

  • Successfully leads local and system implementation of various system initiatives

  • Supports the training of new employees and participates in the creation and maintenance of training materials

Education

  • Bachelors Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)

  • Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Pharmacy Experience (Required)

  • Experience in Ambulatory or Specialty Pharmacy (Preferred)

  • Residency Trained (Preferred)

  • 1 year of Leadership Experience (Preferred)

  • Pharmacy Board Certification (Preferred)
