The Manufacturing Programmer is responsible for developing and implementing programs for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems, with a primary focus on sheet metal fabrication. This role centers around programming for CNC LVD laser cutting machines and press brakes using CAMDUCT and CADMAN software. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of optimizing manufacturing processes through efficient programming and data management. Explore your tasks and responsibilities
* Create and optimize CNC programs for LVD laser cutting machines and press brakes, focusing on efficient part nesting, bending sequences, and tooling selection. * Utilize CAMDUCT for product design, 2D layout development, and flat pattern generation for laser cutting operations. * Proficiently use CADMAN software modules (CADMAN-L and CADMAN-B) for bend allowance calculations, production control, and job management. * Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to determine part requirements and machining processes. * Analyze and improve existing CNC programs to reduce machining time, minimize material waste, and increase accuracy and efficiency. * Collaborate with engineers, lead programmers, and machine operators to ensure seamless communication and process alignment. * Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, including tool path errors, material behavior, and machine performance concerns. * Manage and utilize CADMAN-JOB for production tracking, data collection, and analysis, with potential ERP system integration. * Create and maintain detailed documentation, setup sheets, and CAD/CAM files to support future use and revisions. * Potentially train or mentor machine operators in best practices, programming logic, and troubleshooting techniques. * Stay informed on advancements in CNC programming, CAM software, and manufacturing technologies. * Maintain organized program files and documentation according to company standards. * Follow safety procedures, use required PPE and maintain clean work areas (5S). Physical Requirements * Standing and walking are a necessary part of the job. * Lifting up to 55 lbs. unassisted. * Bending, stooping, and reaching as required for machining and programming tasks. * Proficient in creating and optimizing CNC programs for LVD laser cutting machines and press brakes, with a focus on efficient nesting, bending sequences, and tooling. * Skilled in CAMDUCT and CADMAN (L, B, J) software for flat pattern layout, bend allowances, production planning, and job tracking. * Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and improve CNC programs for reduced machining time, material waste, and enhanced accuracy. * Experienced in troubleshooting programming and machine-related issues, collaborating closely with engineers and operators to resolve challenges. * Adept at maintaining organized documentation, setup sheets, and integrating data with ERP systems for streamlined production. * Committed to continuous improvement, operator training, and maintaining safety and 5S standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and quality standards. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. * High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. What can you expect The work environment includes both manufacturing floor and office settings. Noise levels may vary, with higher levels present in machining areas. Safety glasses and other required PPE must be worn in designated areas.
