What You'll Do Day-To-Day
Compiles and computes a variety of engineering data, analyzes test and design data.
- Develops and prepares schematics, designs, specifications, parts lists and reviews designs and specifications for adequacy.
- Selects computer programs best suited to process data required in making a variety of engineering analyses and assists in the development of new programs to meet changing requirements.
- Assists in the training of others and reviews work assigned to them.
- Performs other complicated technical tasks in the performance of their duties following general instructions and exercising initiative and selecting methods to be used to obtain desired results.
- Performs analysis to check applicability, accuracy of data.
- Extracts and compiles engineering data, processes computer data using specified formulas and procedures.
- Writes project status reports and/or publishes test results.
- Assists project engineers or take the lead in smaller projects on design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and startup.
- Assists plant and maintenance engineers or take the lead in special areas involving equipment repair troubleshooting, instrumentation and preventive maintenance procedures, spare parts, and dealing with vendors.
- Proposes process and manufacturing improvements and may take the lead in implementing them.
- May perform CAD (computer aided design) design.
- Performs job duties in a safe manner.
- Promotes a safe and healthy workplace by following safety rules.
What You'll Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of commonly-used concepts, standards and equipment.
- Technical experience with equipment, processes and control systems used in plants.
- Knowledgeable of project engineering practices and selected electrical, mechanical and chemical equipment applications, equipment and processes.
- Ability to generate CAD drawings, if applicable and using standard software.
- May require familiarity with corporate drafting standards.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Familiarity with codes and standards pertaining to the applicable discipline.
- Advanced communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.

- Salary: $37.10 - $48.70, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
