Job Summary

Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power.

Essential Functions

Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.
Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist Facilities PM to monitor & maintain plant elec. distribution system, review/approve preliminary elec. designs submitted by contractors for various projects, Point of contact for plant automation software licenses, Assist personnel w/ the following: Elec troubleshooting of automated prod machinery, Maintain req software versions on pc's, Oversee all PLC program edits made to OEM machinery, Assist w/ specification of electrical/electronic replacement parts

Required Qualifications

Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is Safety-Sensitive.
