The Executive Director Finance has a direct reporting relationship with the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial results for Mercy. This includes financial analysis, monitoring organizational performance, benchmarking functional/service line operations and managing the forecasting process. Also manages the day-to-day processes within the Finance department to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all reports, including processes to monitor and improve internal controls. The Executive Director provides analysis and support to administration, develops analytical tools and reports for departments and interprets data for all levels of the Community's operations. The Executive Director has local oversight for patient access functions within the hospital setting, including the admitting functions and patient scheduling. Executive Director is responsible for recommending process improvement strategies and work simplification to ensure coordination and eliminate unnecessary or duplication of efforts within the areas of responsibility. Must be able to work well with other finance professionals, administrative leaders and Mercy Shared Services. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:

The Executive Director provides analysis and support to administration, develops analytical tools, reports for departments, and interprets data for all levels of the Community's operations.

Executive Director is responsible for recommending process improvement strategies and work simplification to ensure coordination and eliminate unnecessary or duplication of efforts within the areas of responsibility. Must be able to work well with other finance professionals, administrative leaders, and Mercy Shared Services. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 7-8 direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for clinic operations.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to optimize resource allocation and improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to support organizational growth and sustainability.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of accounting or financial management experience, or equivalent practical experience enabling efficient achievement of job requirements with minimal supervision.

Other Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with departmental leaders.
  • Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under GAAP.
  • Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Licensure: CPA.
  • Experience: Healthcare finance experience, prefer clinic finance experience
