Your Role at Cabot
Cabot Corporation is seeking a Raw Material Coordinator to join the Reinforcement Materials NA Feedstock Purchasing team at the Alpharetta, GA location.
The position will be responsible for coordinating raw materials activities related to transactions, controls and updating of databases, files and systems related to the area, as well as developing, monitoring and maintaining updated market intelligence of the main stakeholders, in addition to coordinating, together with planning, factories and logistics, the operationalization of the supply of raw materials.
This role is based at the Alpharetta, GA location, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).
How You Will Make an Impact
Update, interpret and make suggestions on raw material mapping (FIMS), aligned with the information received from each factory, department and region metrics and other Raw Materials commitments
- Support the Regional and Corporate Business in the closing processes of each month, meeting delivery deadlines, answering questions always in line with each factory and the Raw Materials Directorate
- Keep prices, deadlines and credit limits for Raw Materials up to date, always aligned with each factory and the Raw Materials Directorate
- Communicate to businesses about weekly and monthly variations in raw materials, being able to justify each adjustment
- Update, interpret and make suggestions regarding Raw Materials databases and systems
- Responsible for the process of creating Raw Material Purchase Orders (ON), always aligned with negotiated prices, complying with agreed payment terms and aligned with the quantities agreed with each factory and the Raw Materials Directorate.
- Support with data in the management of raw material contracts
- Keep the regional quality management system up to date, together with the factories, to meet internal and external audits of raw materials
- Support and participate in the processes of maintaining current certifications or new quality certifications for factories in the Region
- Be able to maintain contact with Raw Material suppliers in South America to update prices and availability, in alignment and cooperation with each factory
- Be able to negotiate prices punctually and in alignment with the Raw Materials Directorate
- Develop, update and interpret market intelligence on suppliers, competitors, products competing with our raw materials, related markets, among others, constantly seeking updated sources of information.
- Be qualified to represent Raw Materials in Internal Planning, Quality Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Auditing Forums
- Develop an interactive and constructive relationship with key internal raw material stakeholders
- Participate in the processes of change and continuous improvements, whether cultural, organizational or operational, proposed by the company
What You Will Bring to Cabot
- HS diploma or GED
- 5+ years' experience in industrial purchasing, buying, expediting, logistics coordinating, and/or production planning experience.
- Good understanding of purchasing function, contract language & design and terms & conditions.
- Exposure and understanding of computer-based purchasing and inventory systems, including interfaces with other functional applications such as A/P, project, and job costing, planning and forecasting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages like power point, excel, word and visio and experienced in working with ERP software like SAP or JDE.
- Good knowledge and skills of purchasing.
- Ability to develop and maintain a broad understanding of the marketplace for the portfolio of feedstocks, as well as vendors.
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate internally and externally with suppliers, internal customers, and peers.
