Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Electronics Technician in our Norfolk Virginia location who will be a key support in performing System Testing and Engineering.
Job Description:
- Serves on service desk and onsite repairs technician
- Perform primary COMSEC custodian, and ICAP representative
- Provide support for tickets generated and escalated by end users
- Understands crypto components handling procedures
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and operational issues. Manage trouble tickets to OEM help desk or engineering support
- Oversee and track escalated trouble tickets until resolution
- Acts as the end user's advocate with OEMs
- Provides status reports to depot manager as required
Qualifications:
- High School graduate
- Working knowledge of military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems, to included operations and maintenance
- Understanding of DoD standards, processes, and terminology
- Knowledgeable of DoD standards for Communications Security (COMSEC), security, and information assurance, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, DCMA property management, and DoD 5200 series for counterfeit management
- Familiar with OSHA standards for safety and hazards
- At least 5-years of experience supporting DoD digital systems
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with military organizations, protocols, procedures, and processes, and working knowledge of addressing issues/concerns using the chain-of-command.
- Air Force experience preferred
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
- Moderate travel required: 0% - 25%.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - Repetitive motion, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Picking, Grasping, Talking, Hearing, and Visual Acuity (depth perception).
- Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).
- Protective clothing or equipment and face shields or goggles shall be worn when welding, cutting, or working with molten metal.
