Responsibilities

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented NDT Technician to join our Greenville, SC team and advance in a dynamic work environment with our Special Projects Group. You'll work on a variety of projects performing field observations, inspections, and non-destructive testing (NDT).

Responsibilities

  • Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on materials, in accordance with ECS written procedures.
  • Document field activities by transmitting daily field reports detailing site activities.
  • Perform observations, inspections and testing of materials and document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice.
  • Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians and project managers.
  • Keep project team informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites.
  • Perform nondestructive testing in a variety of environments, including but not limited to fabrication facilities, industrial settings such as paper mills and refineries, pipeline right of ways and other remote locations.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices including data entry and editing of data and documents required for daily field report submission.
  • Maintain the organization of field testing equipment. Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment.
  • May be involved with calculations, data reduction of test results, drafting, and other administrative duties.
  • Attend project meetings as requested.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Maintain basic certifications and obtain ASNT CP 9712 or ECS PQC NDE certification to Level II in a method.
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Limited knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles, applications, and testing standards
  • Increasing knowledge and understanding of the construction practice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform work at heights
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, peers and supervisors as well as independently
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops
  • Basic math skills
  • Functional ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office. May require manufacturers training for proprietary equipment software
