Quality Inspector I (Material Review Coordinator)



Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector I (Material Review Coordinator), is responsible for managing the review, documentation, and control of nonconforming material in accordance with prescribed dispositions. This includes physical and electronic movement of material within the organization as well as to external providers. This role is responsible for the prompt resolution of nonconforming materials in accordance with applicable quality standards.


Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.


  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, quality control, or materials management role is required. Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) processes or nonconformance management highly desired.


  • Ability to work with inventory management and nonconformance tracking systems is essential.


  • Basic understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and certificates of conformance.


  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; and strong problem-solving abilities.


  • Must be a US Citizen


Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:


  • Physically and electronically move piece-parts, subassemblies, and finished goods through internal processes with an emphasis on control of nonconforming material.


  • Timely creation and processing of nonconforming records (NCRs) for nonconforming materials.


  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of MRB activities, nonconformities, investigations, and dispositions.


  • Monitor and maintain the inventory of materials in quarantine or designated MRB locations, performing regular cycle counts and investigating inventory discrepancies.


  • Generate reports and metrics on MRB status, material movement, and nonconformance data to provide visibility to management and support performance targets.


  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, purchase orders, specifications, and other requirement sources.


  • Perform measurements and visual quality assessments of received items, work-in-progress, finished goods, and nonconforming material.


  • When performing inspections, document inspection results by completing reports & logs and inputting data into the quality database.


  • Verify equipment is operational and calibrated. Follow operating instructions and, when necessary, coordinate repairs.


  • CT Scanner training and usage may be required.


  • Adhere to all internal processes, particularly processes associated with handling of non-conforming materials.


  • Act as the central point of communication between quality, engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure timely resolution of material issues and effective implementation of actions.


  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).


  • Maintain and continue to elevate relationships with Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and all other facets of the company


  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal system requirements


  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization


  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support organizational goals


  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values


  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems


  • Ensure that work areas areclean, secure, and well maintained


  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments, as required


  • Other duties, as assigned


Work Environment:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.


  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).


  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 8 hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


  • No regular travel is expected for this position.



Physical Requirements:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.


  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Vision and color vision must pass job-required vision screening


  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch


  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
