Title: Public Health Analyst - Michigan Hubs

$70,000- $80,000 / Posted Thru: 11/25/2025



Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Work and Live in the State of Michigan



Purpose: The Public Health Analyst - Michigan Hubs will support key policy and program efforts within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), focusing primarily on coordination of the Michigan Hubs initiative, an innovative model that builds infrastructure for cross-sector collaboration to address the social and structural drivers of health. This position will assist project leads with program management, partner communication, monitoring and evaluation, and administrative coordination to support durable program infrastructure, data-informed decision-making, and long-term sustainability. The Analyst will draw upon advanced knowledge of health equity, systems thinking, and relationship management to advance the strategic priorities of the Policy, Planning, and Operational Support Administration.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Coordination



  • Support the coordination and implementation of the Michigan Hubs initiative, including planning, partner engagement, and documentation of progress.
  • Support and maintain internal systems to track milestones, document implementation activities, and share progress with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sector alignment and integration with related public health and human services initiatives.


Contract and Grant Administration



  • Monitor Michigan Hubs grants, contracts, and workplans to ensure alignment with program goals, timelines, and fiscal requirements.
  • Support the preparation of summaries, reports, and recommendations for leadership to inform program improvement and decision-making.


Research, Evaluation, and Funding Development



  • Conduct research and environmental scans on best practices and national models related to social determinants of health, health equity, and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for program improvement, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing federal, state, or philanthropic funding opportunities to strengthen long-term support for Michigan Hubs.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.


Partner Engagement



  • Coordinate communication and relationship management with internal and external partners, including community organizations, agencies, and grantees.
  • Support partner convenings, learning sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare and present materials (e.g., reports, slide decks, summaries) for meetings and additional partner convenings.
  • Develop clear and accessible written content, including summaries, updates, and web or presentation materials for diverse audiences.


General Administrative and Team Support



  • Contribute to team planning, documentation, and communication processes that support a stable and sustainable program infrastructure.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and elevate barriers to progress in a timely manner.
  • Adapt effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field preferred).

Experience: Three to five years experience working in federal, state, and/or local government, developing complex communication strategies, analyzing data, developing engagement strategies, local public health program coordination, and project management is required. Prior experience working in community engagement and grant monitoring is strongly preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Position has potential for fully remote or hybrid work (subject to Office of the State Employer determinations on State of Michigan Work from Home Policy). If in-person work is required, this position will be based in Lansing and may require limited in-state travel. Requires a valid vehicle operator's license and access to a vehicle to attend off-site meetings, conferences, and trainings.
