Position: Lead Endoscopy Technician

Department: Endoscopy

Schedule: 40 Hours (4 Shifts/Week 7a-530p). On-Call Required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of the job is to provide support, guidance and education within the endoscopy environment as it relates to disinfection and HLD of Endoscopes (Colon, EGD, Bronchoscopes, EBUS, TEE). The Lead Endoscopy Associate will assist in the orientation and continuing education of all technical staff in Endoscopy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:


  • Performs all duties and responsibilities as described in the Endoscopy Associate job description.

  • Provides support to physicians, nurses and patients during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

  • Maintains current competencies in the cleaning and high level disinfecting of all scopes.

  • Troubleshoots all equipment, contacts appropriate person for necessary repairs and if required, requests a loaner.

  • Maintains all HLD logs and sends monthly report to Nurse Manager.

  • In conjunction with supply chain, maintains appropriate par levels of all supplies in the department.

  • In conjunction with supply chain and the Nurse Manager, will request any special supply.

  • In conjunction with the Nurse Manager and the Perioperative Educator, will support team communication regarding any changes in protocols or policies.

  • Working with the Nurse Manager, assists in control of cost of supplies and equipment.

  • Precepts and facilitates orientation of new endoscopy associates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: Two (2) years endoscopy associate experience required. Five (5) years preferred

  • Certification/Licensure:BLS

  • Knowledge + Skills: Must have working knowledge with scopes in the upper and lower GI tact and experience working with GI Physician. Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to perform as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, instilling a positive cohesive spirit to ensure customer satisfaction.


Compensation Range:

$21.68- $32.22
