POSITION SUMMARY: The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) provides executive leadership in creating the strategic direction for an effective culture of safety and continuous improvement at Boston Medical Center and Boston Medical Center Health System. Acting as a champion and mentor for quality and patient safety, the CQO develops and executes a strategy for Boston Medical Center Health System to be a leader in quality and safety. In order to achieve high-reliability outcomes, the CQO provides clinical leadership for the integration efforts of quality and safety, promoting collaboration across all interdisciplinary healthcare roles. Accountable for setting targets and attaining quality and safety goals for BMC, this position leads collaborative safety and quality, initiatives across BMCHS including incident mitigation strategies and partnering with healthcare staff to produce positive, measurable results in practices and leading and lagging metrics. Proactively communicates internally and externally to educate team members and patients about quality and safety initiatives. Employs industry-leading methods in collaboration with informatics, providers, front-line clinicians, and other key stakeholders to achieve improved clinical outcomes across BMCHS. Fosters effective partnerships with leaders in the Clinical Departments and Sections, Population Health, Medical Affairs, Nursing, Finance, Human Resources, Legal Department, Marketing/Communications and Operations. Engages in communications with clinical leadership, boards, regulatory bodies, and external media from a quality and safety experience across all of Boston Medical Center Health System. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements at the national, state, and local levels, and develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. In addition to the Quality and Patient Safety team, this position is responsible for Patient Advocacy and the Simulation Center. Compensation $425,000 - $475,000 annually This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
