This position is based out of Feeding America's Chicago office. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day "work anywhere" program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.

The Opportunity

The Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships is responsible for setting the strategy, vision, and tactics to achieve nine-figure revenue from corporate and private foundation donors through philanthropy, grants, cause marketing and employee engagement. The Vice President oversees new and existing partnership development and employee engagement. The VP, Corporate Partnerships manages the daily operations, budget and administration of the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships team. Additionally, the VP Corporate & Foundation Partnerships leads cross-functional collaboration with other revenue streams and interrelated departments (e.g., supply chain, government relations. Marcom) in support of building holistic partnerships with institutional donors.

Compensation

These practices include basing salary offers on previous compensation and negotiating salary offers. As such, we maintain transparent salary ranges and clearly defined practices for how our team, including new hire salary offers, moves through these ranges. You can expect us to offer the best salary up front based on these clearly defined pay practices with little room for negotiation. The salary range listed below represents the starting to mid-point salaries for positions and comparable roles at this level at our organization and candidates should expect to be offered a salary near the starting point of the range that is listed on the job posting. We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.

Salary Range: $220,000 to $250,000 Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Develops the overall vision and strategy for the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships fundraising channels (corporate philanthropy, private foundations, cause marketing and employee engagement revenue from new and existing institutional donors), ensuring a holistic approach to partnership that considers all aspects of Feeding America's interests: funds, food, cause marketing/consumer engagement, employee engagement, C-suite leadership engagement, in kind support, awareness and advocacy.Responsible for securing approximately $160M annually in revenue from corporate and foundation partners.
  • Sets and oversees the implementation of the annual operating plan for the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships department; develops and manages the annual department expense budget.
  • Supervises, trains and coaches frontline fundraisers and people leaders, including an estimated 4 direct reports and team of more than 25.
  • Provides leadership to a large, complex team, including direct management of an estimated 4 direct reports, including people leaders, and oversight of a department of 25+.
  • Coaches and develops senior fundraisers and managers, supports career growth, and fosters department culture. Partners closely with Human Resources on performance management.
  • Sets annual fundraising targets in collaboration with Chief Development Officer and finance. Develops, monitors, and evaluates fundraising pipeline to ensure fundraising activities are aligned to Feeding America's goals and plans. Analyzes data to track progress against goals.
  • Supports efforts to develop new and retain existing corporate and foundation partners; engages with corporate and foundation partners directly and holds a portfolio of relationships; ensures strong collaboration between new, existing, foundation and employee engagement partnership teams.
  • Identifies and integrates emerging trends in corporate social responsibility, ESG, philanthropy, and consumer engagement. Continuously evolves the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships team's approach to ensure Feeding America is positioned as a top-tier partner for institutional donors.
  • Provides donor engagement and strategy guidance to relationship managers to optimize and expand donor relationships.
  • Collaborates with Communication and Marketing leaders to continually develop, execute, and refine plans for donor recognition, stewardship, and cause marketing campaign support.
  • Partners with Philanthropy Operations leadership to ensure strong portfolio management, process improvement and establish and track key performance indicators.
  • Partners with Supply Chain leadership to develop and execute integrated strategies that engage corporate donors contributing both food and funds, ensuring cross-functional alignment and prioritization of shared goals..
  • Leads and/or contributes to the development of stewardship resources and materials for fundraisers.
  • Builds relationships with network food bank leaders to advance fundraising and create linkages between national and local giving; contributes to Network Fundraising Services (NFS) offerings to the network.
  • Partners with the Chief Development Officer to engage with partners at the highest level, set and implement strategy for the Development team, motivate staff and build an inclusive and collaborative culture and establish and continuously improve internal processes and procedures
  • Offers strategic recommendations to the Chief Development Officer encompassing donor strategy, department management, potential Board candidates and more.
  • Prepares memos, partnership updates and communications for Feeding America's network members and Executive Team, including the Chief Executive Officer, as needed.
  • Represents corporate and foundation fundraising function in internal and external meetings; prepares and delivers presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Participates in special projects, working groups and task forces, as needed.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of senior level fundraising experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated success working with institutional (corporate/foundation) donors/partners and meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Deep knowledge of the field and best practices related to cause marketing.
  • Experience leading a large team including remote employees.
  • Collaborative leader who is willing to both lead and provide hands-on support to team.
  • Strong negotiation skills based on a win-win philosophy.
  • Detail oriented, strong project management skills.
