Position Summary:

Provides a broad and varying range of complex operational support to contribute to the success of Institute departments. Coordinates planning, development and implementation of projects related to a specific department or cost center. Facilitates and supports all aspects of day-to-day, recurring and/or program-based tasks required for areas to operate efficiently and effectively. Anticipates and responds to needs of department. With leadership, develops processes for improving operations. Independently coordinates work between management, staff, customers, and vendors to successfully compete projects on time and on budget. Provides updates to management on status of programs and budgets.

The HealthPartners Cancer Research Center (CRC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Oncology Institute Coordinator to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of cancer research and patient care in our community.

About the CRC:

The HealthPartners Cancer Research Center offers trials to help prevent, screen for, diagnose, and treat cancer and manage the side effects of treatment and the symptoms of the disease. These trials range from Phase I trials, the first step in testing a new treatment in humans, to Phase IV trials. Our mission is to benefit our patients through innovative cancer care that seamlessly integrates clinical research and quality improvement into routine care close to home.

Main Duties:

Plans and coordinates the implementation of research projects, which includes the delivery of patient care to study participants under the supervision of an RN and/or a rostered investigator when applicable. This position serves as Coordinator and primary liaison to study sponsor of large multi-site clinical trials.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the day-to-day implementation and operation of research studies, conducted by the HealthPartners Cancer Research Center.
2. Plans, develops, and implements projects or programs in an efficient and timely manner.
3. Provides regulatory support for new and ongoing clinical trials including maintenance of essential regulatory documentation.
4. Provides consistent and reliable coordination support for the work and staff of assigned department or cost center.
5. Partners with regulatory project manager to support regulatory submissions and review.
6. Works and communicates regularly with assigned department or cost center, as well as within the Institute and with external customers, vendors and partners.
7. Prepare research records for sponsor audits or monitor visits.
8. Other duties as assigned by CRC Director or Manager.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of GCP and ICH Guidelines and ability to follow established regulations, procedures, and protocols; strong computer skills; demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance in clinical research; demonstrated ability to plan work and coordinate projects; demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
Qualifications:
Research experience preferred.

Work Schedule:

M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of experience in the field.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet, printers, telephones, fax, scan, copy machines and audio-visual equipment.
  • Excellent organizational/project management skills; attention to detail a must.
  • Must have experience handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external staff and customers.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to be flexible when priorities change.
  • Ability to make appropriate-level decisions independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
