The Custom Brands Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for managing our 130,000 sf Distribution Center in Golden Valley. This center manages stocking programs for our major OEM customers -and ships product worldwide to over 10,000 dealers and factories located in 70 countries. The operation ranges from 100,000 lbs to 500,000 lbs of product per day including FTL, LTL, and small parcel. The operation also includes kitting production operation along with raw material storage for our bottle filling operation also located in Golden Valley.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Execute Daily Operations


    • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
    • Oversees inventory management and space utilization, to promote accessibility for order fulfillment, product preservation, and efficiency.
    • Documents and implements product quality standards
    • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of required supplies.
    • Communicate and collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional business partners to achieve goals.



  • Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing Tools


    • Ensures that all key tasks have standard work written for them and it is implemented and followed at all times by all employees. Encourage others to develop new ideas to continually update and improve standard work based on productivity, safety, and quality. Maintain performance metrics publicly that show improvements toward key company measures.
    • Maintain metrics for all roles and engage the team in driving them
    • Sets expectation and leads by example to make small improvements every day



  • Staff selection and team development


    • Mentors employees on Lean manufacturing to instill a lean culture, to sustain processes and to create a culture of accountability
    • Develops strong delegation skills so that they are able to create time to work on lean.
    • Manage personnel fostering teamwork culture funded on Lube-Tech Core values
    • Drives organizational development leveraging lean, standard processes and training

    • Participate in budgeting and maintaining all costs to plan
    • Executes and manages department special projects focused on continuous improvement Communicates effectively and professionally




Education:




  • Bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, supply chain preferred but not required




Experience and/or Training:



  • 5+ years of warehouse or facility management with one or more functional teams of people
  • Experience with TL, LTL, or small parcel and International shipping modes preferred
  • Strong warehouse systems knowledge (JDE or other) and ability to problem solve
  • Working knowledge of warehouse set-up, binning, product flow with manual and automated methods
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Track record for budgeting, HR management, safety, and training discipline


Licenses/Certificates:



  • Ability to understand and pass Hazmat certification process
  • Ability to understand DOT, state, federal and ICC regulations
  • Ability to apply best practice techniques such as 5S, six-sigma, and/or other lean systems


Technology/Equipment:Understanding of all forklift equipment, warehouse doors and dock infrastructure, electronic warehouse management systems, scanners, paperwork, labeling equipment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands and handle office supplies. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include clear close vision. The employee is frequently required to solve problems whether it is with a computer system or with various changes that happen throughout the day. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Both office and general warehouse environment including forklift traffic, dock loading/unloading, and general production assembly lines. The office area is climate controlled both winter and summer. The warehouse is climate controlled in the winter. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.




      The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $90,000 and $110,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



      1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
      2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
      3. Market and industry benchmarks: We compare compensation packages with industry standards to ensure we are competitive.
