Inventory Control Specialist

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring inventory counts are accurate in the database based on physical inventory in location. The position requires a strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve inaccuracies. Tasks are performed both independently and working as part of a cross-functional team. This position reports to the Materials Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accurately count parts in inventory and key results into the database.
  • Reconcile inaccuracies between information in the database and product in physical locations.
  • Conduct zone audits to ensure inventory is in proper locations.
  • Run reports, analyze data, and problem solve discrepancies.
  • Assist production areas with locating material missing from proper location.
  • Review inventory usage for potential write off and/or disposal.
  • Properly and safely drive stand up joey and forklift.
  • Physically move material throughout the plant.
  • Assists with special projects that require inventory movement.
  • Acts as a backup to material handling functions.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, prefer at least 1 year of that in material logistics and/or inventory related role.
  • Past experience safely operating power industrial trucks
  • Experience with computerized inventory control system, cycle counting, MS Work and Excel
  • Oracle experience preferred

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience

Physical Requirements: (To be met with or without accommodations)

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand 10 hours a day
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Eye hand coordination and attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, twist and turn
  • Comfortable working at heights
