LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY, TENNESSEE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (TEMA) DIVISION, HAMILTON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time work in a public safety related field may be OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree AND experience equivalent to two years of full-time work in in a public safety related field. OR Three years of experience as an Emergency Management Operations Officer with the State of Tennessee. Overview This is the entry level class in the Emergency Management District Coordinator sub-series. An employee in this class trains in the implementation, coordination and monitoring of emergency management programs in conjunction with federal, state, local, and non-governmental organization stakeholders in order to protect lives and property. Additionally, an employee in this class may be required to work variable work schedules, be on call 24-hours a day, and work in hazardous environments. Responsibilities - Trains with a subject matter expert for emergency management in their assigned areas to learn to serve as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. - Assists with supporting federal, state, local, and non-governmental organization stakeholders in the development and maintenance of all-hazards emergency management programs. - Learns to collaborate with federal, state, local, and non-governmental organization stakeholders on the facilitation of workshops, conferences, seminars, and training courses. Additionally, learns to monitor training activities and support the development and evaluation of instructors. - Supports Emergency Management District Coordinator 2 in the coordination and facilitation of timely and efficient disaster response and recovery with federal, state, local, and non-governmental organization stakeholders. - Assist in ensuring the operational capability of assigned agency equipment, including the daily operation of an emergency response vehicle. - Prepares and compiles a variety of reports such as situation reports, updates, and/or requests for Competencies (KSA's) Competencies
