Shift's Available: Days

Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours: Four 8-hour Shifts per week (No Weekends, No Holidays, and No Fridays)

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO

The Pain Management Registered Nurse plays an integral role in enhancing the quality of life for patients experiencing acute or chronic pain. This RN is involved in assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care strategies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse is responsible for educating and supporting patients in pain management techniques and therapies, ensuring a compassionate and comprehensive approach to care.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Assess patients' pain levels and medical histories to develop personalized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive pain management.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, medication use, and side effects.
  • Administer medications safely and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Implement non-pharmacological interventions such as physical therapy and relaxation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
