Job Summary
The Fabricator III is a senior-level role responsible for advanced fabrication, repair, and modification of industrial machinery, support structures, tooling, and plant equipment. This position performs complex mechanical troubleshooting, welding, machining, and equipment rebuilds to support high-performance extrusion and polymer operations. The Fabricator III works independently, mentors junior team members, and ensures work adheres to strict safety and quality standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform complex fabrication, welding, and mechanical repair work on machinery, structures, and equipment. Diagnose advanced mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective repairs. Fabricate custom parts, brackets, guards, and machine components using MIG/TIG welding, cutting equipment, and precision tools. Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new machinery and production lines. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on critical mechanical systems to maximize uptime. Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on mechanical design improvements and continuous improvement projects. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts usage, and equipment changes. Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety rules, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and environmental policies. Train and mentor Fabricator I/II or maintenance technicians as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other duties as needed to support plant operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; technical or trade school training preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial fabrication, welding, and mechanical repair. Expert-level knowledge of MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, alignment, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Proficiency using fabrication equipment: saws, welders, grinders, presses, drills, and precision tools. Strong understanding of safety processes, OSHA regulations, and hazardous-material handling. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support high-demand production environments. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Compensation & Benefit Information Salary Pay Range:$28.00-$35.00 per hour dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living Bonus/Incentive Pay:
A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
