Intern, Supply Chain and Logistics

The Supply Chain and Logistics Internship program for the Summer of 2026 is designed to provide a well-rounded truck operations, logistics, and analytical education to the intern. The intern will perform value-added activities for Mansfield Service Partners(MSP) while learning to work within a value added logistic software, develop operational efficiencies, fuel supply integration, and analytical skills.

In addition to learning sound business management skills, which are transferable to any future career, the intern will acquire a working knowledge of Mansfield Service Partners' industry position, key suppliers, and customers. The initial period will include training and shadowing, with the long-term focus of owned project work making up the majority of the effort after concept introductions and training.

Key Projects

  • Review all routing regions to ensure proper efficiencies. Communicate routing deficiencies via daily reporting to management. Ensure new SmartLogix features are being properly utilized.
  • Reduction in overall miles per gallon by (.5). Developing a comprehensive program that utilizes Samsara onboard truck technology to help reduce additional fuel used. Working alongside operations managers to deliver results.
  • Work with Samsara software to upload directions, specific details and comments about customer site, allows the ability to add pictures, Lats-Longs, and descriptions.
  • Fuel industry supply-chain integration to add a more seamless process between supply-chain coordinators and dispatchers. Proper integration will allow for a better low to average spread
  • Support lubricants business unit as a liaison during transition to dispatching lubricants in centralized setting out of our Houston office.

  • Develop working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, SmartLogix, PDI, and Samsara
  • Understand Fuel Industry & Logistics Functions
  • Develop basic proficiency in project management
  • Enhance communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

Mansfield's summer internship is a full-time, paid role ($18/hour) running May 18-July 31, 2026. Candidates must be able to work onsite, fully in office, in Houston, TX for the entire duration of the program.
