JOB SUMMARY:
The Content team at WebMD Ignite is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and clinical-grade multimedia content at scale. The Clinical Content Manager is an expert in digital patient education who provides leadership and direction for the content team and for the development and governance of all clinical digital content assets. Along with other leaders on the content team, the Clinical Content Manager is responsible for maintaining the medical accuracy, relevancy, and impact of all clinical-grade content. This role is responsible for managing a unified editorial approach to all aspects of clinical content development, maintenance, evolution, and curation. This position requires detailed understanding of all clinical content guidelines; of content reuse strategies; of content use cases, requirements, and relationships across products and solutions; and of the WebMD Ignite content corpus as a whole.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partners with other content leaders to set and achieve team goals, strategize new content initiatives, and prioritize content work.

Plans and scopes content initiatives from an editorial perspective. Guides content developers in executing on the work to ensure it meets stated objectives. -
Provides editorial leadership for strategic curation and integration of content collections. -
Models best practices for content development, including editorial style, evidence-based medicine, plain language, content development processes, and consistency with product, tone, and style goals. -
Identifies and resolves problems quickly and effectively; communicates solutions to team members as appropriate. -
Supports communication to internal and external clients about the team's work by collecting, preparing, and delivering reports about content initiatives. -
Collaborates with the Content Systems and Operations team on process improvements and efficiencies. -
Develops and maintains editorial guidelines for in-house style, content quality, and consistency. -
Leads the Digital Patient Education team, ensuring that team and organizational priorities are matched with appropriate resources. Manages a team of full-time employees and freelance resources. -
Focuses on editorial team growth and development, new opportunities, and process improvements. -
Edits and coaches internal and freelance content specialists to help maintain a high standard of quality and ensure projects stay within appropriate scope. -
Acts as a liaison and decision-maker between content specialists and other SMEs. -
Helps to create and refine editorial processes across different work streams.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with an emphasis on practical experience. -
8+ years of editorial experience, with at least 3 years of experience managing teams. -
Ability to excel in a team environment with minimal direction and serve as a resource for others within and beyond the team for resolving editorial and content development issues. -
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. -
Superior understanding and execution of plain-language, behavior change principles, and health literacy best practices. -
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment. -
Experience in the industry or similar sectors is preferred.
