Job Title: EHS Manager


Summary: Plans and coordinates environmental, health and safety program requiring application of engineering principles and technology to analyze and control conditions contributing to occupational hazards and diseases by performing the following duties.



Starting Wage: $110,000 to $130,000



The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards at the facility.


  • Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.


  • Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations


  • Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material data sheets.


  • Maintains monitoring instrumentation and equipment.


  • Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.


  • Directs workers engaged in field and laboratory verification of compliance with health regulations.


  • Provides technical guidance to management, labor organizations, government agencies, and civic groups regarding health-related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories.


  • Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


  • Develops and facilitates training for workers on issues related to health and safety.


  • Serves as Company first responder and emergency contact for safety and environmental emergencies.


  • Maintains monthly reports for OSHA and for Corporate Management on safety and injury data.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience



Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English for writing reports and creating presentations for training.



Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and able to audit for compliance.



Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.



Experience with JDE or other enterprise software a plus.



Negotiation skills.



Available to be called on in event of emergencies.



Bilingual (Spanish or Japanese) a plus but not required.



Physical Demands




  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 10lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable standing 2 - 4 hours continuously without a break.
  • Use hand and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • May be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can read and measure.
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour work week. Overtime may be required.
  • The pace of work is steady and fast.
