Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a System Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Support for Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) in support of Zero Trust implementation. In this role, you will analyze user requirements, develop system architectures, and provide technical leadership to ensure successful integration and operation of systems. This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring on-site presence two days per week.
What you will do
- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Lead system requirements analysis, design, and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
What you need to have
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- 5 additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, for a total of 12 years of experience.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (required).
- Technical Skills:
- 7+ years of Systems Engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience with Zero Trust implementation.
- Proficiency with technologies including REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, Single Sign-On (OAuth and SAML), and Kubernetes.
- Ability to provide technical expertise in industry, federal, and DoD standards/policies.
- Experience creating and maintaining ICAM for Zero Trust documentation, including release notes, installation/user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans in accordance with Zero Trust mandates.

- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Demonstrated engineering experience in requirements analysis, functional analysis, allocation, system requirement reviews, developing CONOPS, and system architectures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with Software Development, Test Engineers, and System Administration teams to establish capabilities that meet requirements.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience developing program review materials.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Familiarity with tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
