About the Job

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor on the academic track. They will join 8 pediatric nephrologists in a thriving academic practice.

Faculty on the academic track are physician clinician-educators with engagement in scholarly activities, which may include clinical research, teaching applied medical science or publicly engaged scholarship. The selected candidate will be involved in direct patient care and the training and teaching of medical students, pediatric house officers and renal fellows, in addition to scholarly activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* M.D. and board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Peds Nephrology
* Eligible for MN license. Will accept applicants currently in final year of pediatric nephrology fellowships.
* Candidates should have a record of scholarly accomplishment, excellence in clinical pediatric nephrology, and interest and ability in teaching.

About the Department

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Minnesota is dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents with kidney disease. We offer comprehensive medical services for a full range of kidney disorders.
We have a very active dialysis and transplant program for children with end-stage kidney failure. The University of Minnesota is one of the oldest pediatric transplant programs in the world and has performed more infant transplants than any other program in the United States.

The pediatric nephrologists work closely with a number of other specialties including pediatric urology, transplant surgery, pediatric psychology, nutrition, and social work to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the care of children with kidney disease.
We have active clinical research programs in Alport syndrome, glomerular disease, and pediatric kidney transplantation. We are active members of a number of pediatric nephrology collaborative organizations including the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC), Improving Renal Outcomes Collaborative (IROC), and NAPRTCS.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $179,900- $$179,900 -$276,400; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
