Assistant Professor

The department seeks to fill a 12-month, Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy position in the School of Health Sciences with a start date of August 1, 2026. The department seeks an exceptional candidate to join the current faculty members who are dedicated to advancing the OT profession. The candidate will teach graduate courses, serve as a faculty advisor, mentor students, produce scholarly research that results in peer-reviewed journals within the discipline and/or interprofessional field, present at inter/professional conferences, engage in procuring extramural funds with interdisciplinary teams, participate in departmental, school, and university service as well as engage in service to the professional discipline and the larger Winston-Salem and Forsyth County community.

Applicants must have:

An NCBOT license or be eligible to practice OT in North Carolina by the time of appointment.

Teaching approximated18 semester hours annually

Advise and guide student research and implement guidelines in accordance with University and departmental standards, participate in departmental committee work as assigned

Attend departmental meetings, assist in curriculum development, program evaluation and other administrative duties as assigned

Maintain office hours consistent with faculty guidelines

Serve on University, School of Health Sciences, and departmental committees as needed

Serve in community or civic organizations or activities as specified by University guidelines

Assist in the supervision of Level I and II Fieldwork as needed

Develop, conduct, and disseminate professional scholarship
