Job Description

SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory activities as outlined in the laboratory's quality management system (QMS). These responsibilities include conducting testing to industry standards such as UL, CSA, ASTM, SAE, and ISO, as well as analyzing results, communicating nonconformities to laboratory management, and accurately maintaining laboratory documentation. The Laboratory Technician shall also assist in coordinating sample collection, equipment calibration, and maintenance activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Review production schedule and issue sample tags for products that are required for automotive PPAP's.
* Inspect the adequacy of incoming samples for required testing.
* Enter project and test data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
* Interpret industry standards, specifications, and test procedures.
* Inspect test equipment for functionality and valid calibration dates prior to testing activities.
* Conduct assigned testing as outlined in the associated laboratory work instructions, test procedures, specifications, and industry standards.
* Accurately, clearly, and impartially report and analyze test results in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
* Conduct all laboratory activities as outlined in the laboratory's quality management system.
* Promote and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Assist with maintaining inventory for consumable materials, supplies and reagents.
* Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating services, as necessary.
* Assist with documenting equipment, calibration, service, and preventative maintenance records.
* Perform other special projects or duties as required by laboratory management.

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Must be able to function in a team environment while staying focused on individual responsibilities.
